As women, we experience a wide range of emotions [some of y’all men too]. Those emotions dictating not only what we think about ourselves, but what we allow ourselves to believe about one another. We desire to feel & to be loved. We want validation from others we’ve deemed loftier. We tend to try to find our value & worth from the sum of our deeds/good work. When situations arise that shift the weights in our fragile balance, our self-esteem diminishes. Causing us to have a perverted perspective which in turns leads us to us projecting our innermost feelings of inadequacy & negativity onto others.
So tell me why? Why is it so easy for us to lose sight of our identity in Christ? And when that sight is lost- to attack and tear each other down??
Do not let your true sense of identity be defined by your circumstances or the thoughts/feelings of others. For our God Himself formed us from His own likeness [Gen. 1:27] and we lack nothing [James 1:4]. We must have unwavering confidence that God wonderfully made us [Ps. 139:14]. Let’s choose to trust in God’s unfailing love for us [Ps. 36:5-7]. He gave each us unique skill sets, thoughts & ideas to empower one another.
So let’s empower one another. We are daughters [& sons] of the Most High! Empowering each other doesn’t temper our own power. In fact, it creates a powerful unity. For a sisterhood of women [brotherhood of men] who believe the best about one’s self & each other is a force to be reckon with. Let’s practice empathy, gift each other with smiles, hugs, kind words & fervent prayer for one another. We are stronger & wiser together!
