God is never late.
But I have been impatient.
Not because I don’t trust Him…
but because I didn’t fully understand what He was doing.
What I once interpreted as delay,
I now recognize as alignment.
What Alignment Really Is
Alignment is not just things “coming together” on the outside.
Alignment is the process by which God restores something or someone back to its original intention, original value, and original order so it can function in the fullness of being whole and in the freedom of being who it was created to be.
That means alignment isn’t just about direction.
It’s about restoration.
It’s God bringing every part of me
my thoughts, my desires, my decisions, my identity…
back into agreement with Him.
“Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” ~ Proverbs 3:6 (NLT)
Alignment doesn’t start with movement.
It starts with acknowledgement.
What I Thought Was Delay
For a long time, I wrestled with timing.
“God, when is this going to shift?”
“When will things line up?”
“Why does it feel like I’m behind?”
But what I’m learning is this:
God is not late.
He is intentional.
And what feels like delay…
is often alignment.
Because God is not just concerned with where I’m going,
He’s concerned with who I am when I get there.
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” ~ Psalm 37:23 (NLT)
Not just the destination.
Every step.
Small Shifts, Big Impact
One of the clearest ways God showed me this was through something simple:
Small shifts change everything.
A slight misalignment in the body can create pain that radiates everywhere.
A small adjustment can restore movement, strength, and balance.
And the same is true spiritually.
Small disobedience can create major disruption.
Small compromise can lead to instability.
But small obedience?
It creates breakthrough.
One “yes.”
One boundary.
One surrendered thought.
Alignment often looks small…
but it carries weight.
When Something Feels Off
Misalignment isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s subtle.
It shows up as:
confusion where there should be clarity
restlessness where there should be peace
tension in relationships
exhaustion that doesn’t quite make sense
Because when something is out of alignment,
everything has to compensate.
You can’t walk straight with a crooked foundation.
You can’t hear clearly with a cluttered heart.
The Daily Return
Alignment isn’t about perfection.
It’s about posture.
It looks like choosing God again and again.
Over my emotions, over my assumptions, over my need to control.
It’s surrender in real time.
Alignment is not a one-time moment.
It’s a daily return.
A daily choosing.
A daily surrender.
A daily decision to lay down my will for His.
“I die daily.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:31 (NKJV)
Because every day, there is something in me
that has to come back into agreement with God.
Restoring What Was Always Mine
This is where it became personal.
Because God doesn’t just align my steps,
He aligns my identity.
He restores me to my original value.
Not who life shaped me to be.
Not who pain convinced me I was.
Not who rejection tried to redefine.
But who He intended from the beginning.
And for me… that hit deeply.
Because my name carries meaning: delightful desire.
And if I’m honest, there were seasons where I didn’t feel like that.
I didn’t feel delightful.
I didn’t feel desired.
I didn’t feel chosen.
But that didn’t change what was true.
It revealed where misalignment had taken place.
And now I’m watching God restore it.
Not just around me, but within me.
Restoring my identity.
Restoring my worth.
Restoring my ability to receive, to desire, to trust again.
Because when something is aligned,
it functions the way it was created to.
If You Feel Behind
What feels like delay in your life
may actually be God realigning you.
Not punishing you.
Not ignoring you.
Not withholding from you.
But preparing you.
Because misalignment in the wrong season
can create damage in the right opportunity.
And God loves you too much
to let you arrive somewhere
you’re not aligned enough to sustain.
A Quiet Invitation
So just pause for a moment.
Not to judge yourself…
but to be honest.
Where might something be slightly out of alignment?
Where have you been resisting what God is asking?
Where have you been moving ahead of Him?
Where have you been holding onto something He’s trying to adjust?
Where have you mistaken delay for denial?
Because sometimes
the breakthrough you’re waiting for
is on the other side of a small shift.
Final Thought
Alignment isn’t loud.
It’s quiet.
Intentional.
Subtle.
But it’s powerful.
Because one small shift
can change everything.
And the best part?
You don’t have to fix yourself.
God is the One who restores.
God is the One who aligns.
God is the One who brings things back into order.
All He’s asking for
is your yes.
A Simple Prayer
God, align me.
Align my thoughts with Your truth.
Align my desires with Your will.
Align my steps with Your timing.
Align my identity with what You’ve spoken.
Restore me to my original intention,
my original value,
and my original order…
so I can walk in the fullness of who You created me to be.
It is so and so it is.
In Your Mighty Name we pray… Amen & Amen.
